NEW STRAVA Integration with OnTracx

With the new STRAVA integration, you can automatically sync your runs from STRAVA to OnTracx, giving you a complete picture of your GPS data, pace, and load.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Setting up STRAVA integration

  1. Open the OnTracx app.

  2. Tap your profile icon (top left).

  3. Select Third-Party Integrations → STRAVA → Connect with STRAVA.

  4. Log in to STRAVA and confirm that you want to connect OnTracx.

ℹ️ Once connected, every run on STRAVA will be automatically synced to OnTracx. If you also use a Garmin watch and sync it to STRAVA, your Garmin data will also flow to OnTracx via STRAVA. This happens in the background — normally, you only need to set up the connection once.

How to use STRAVA x OnTracx

It doesn’t get easier than this — OnTracx automatically matches your STRAVA activity data with your OnTracx load data, ensuring your training log stays complete and accurate.

Strava integration automatically adds GPS data to phone-free runs:

  • When you record a run using STRAVA, the activity will appear in the OnTracx app with GPS data but no load data — you’ll notice the trajectory in grey.

  • Once you connect your OnTracx sensor, the system automatically syncs your biomechanical load data to the matching STRAVA session, filling in the missing details.

If you run using both Strava and OnTracx, our algorithm compares both datasets and merges them intelligently — always keeping the most reliable and complete data for your analysis.

How to use Garmin x STRAVA x OnTracx

Follow these steps to ensure your Garmin runs and OnTracx load data sync correctly to STRAVA and OnTracx:

  1. Disconnect the sensor from the OnTracx app and fully close the app. The sensor cannot connect to your watch and phone at the same time.

  2. Activate the OnTracx sensor by pressing the two buttons together until the LED is steady. Attach the sensor to your Garmin band.

  3. Start your run on Garmin

    • Open the Run activity on your Garmin watch.

    • Press START (top right) to begin.

  4. Connect the sensor

    • The watch searches for the sensor (the OnTracx data field will show “Searching…”).

    • Once connected, the display will read “POWER_ON”.

  5. Start recording your run by pressing START again.

  6. Stop the run

    • Press STOP (top right) to finish.

    • Select Save to store the run on your watch.

    • OnTracx data will not appear in Garmin’s post-run stats.

  7. Reconnect the sensor to OnTracx

    • Exit running mode on Garmin (otherwise the sensor cannot reconnect).

    • Confirm the sensor remains in POWER ON mode (LED steady).

    • Open the OnTracx app, select Connect Sensor, and choose your device.

    • Your data syncs automatically to the OnTracx dashboard.

  8. Sync with STRAVA

    • Sync your Garmin watch with the Garmin Connect app.

    • Garmin Connect syncs automatically to STRAVA.

    • STRAVA sends your GPS data to OnTracx.

    • Refresh your OnTracx app to see the updates.

  9. Full picture in OnTracx

    • The OnTracx consolidator engine matches your load data from the sensor with the STRAVA activity.

    • You now have GPS, pace, and load data combined in one clear overview.

✅ Enjoy seeing your runs in full detail — GPS, speed, and load — all in one place with OnTracx + STRAVA.
