Not everyone celebrates the same holidays which is why it's important to be able to make changes to those specific dates. You can now add new holiday dates or edit any that exist by default in your account.

To make changes to your Federal Holiday Calendar, you will first need to go to your Settings and select Global Settings from the list. Find and click on Federal Holidays under Organization Settings.

Before making changes, here are some things to note:

  • The ability to add new dates or delete existing dates to your Federal Holiday Calendar can only be done if you are on our V2 Pricing Plan. Please reach out to our support team at help@opentoclose.com to learn more.

  • Changing or deleting dates will affect all property contingency date calculations (e.g. task dates, trigger dates, property dates, etc).

  • You can click on the date option to change it but cannot change the date type from a specific date to a variable date or vice versa.

Adding New Dates to the Federal Holiday Calendar

To add a date to your Federal Holiday Calendar, click + Add New next to Dates. If you need to add an exact date, enter the name of the holiday and select the date from the calendar option. Click Add to save it to the list of holidays.

Sometimes, the date you need to add doesn't fall on the same date each year. For these types of dates, use the Variable Date option. Enter the name of the holiday and then choose the week, the day of the week, and the month that the holiday falls on. Once you have that entered, click on Add.

Edit Existing Dates on the Federal Holiday Calendar

Now that you have your Federal Holidays in place, you can adjust any that may fall on the weekend. To do this, find the holiday you want to adjust and click on Edit. This will open up a number of options to choose from for when the holiday lands on a Saturday or a Sunday. You can choose to do nothing or you can roll the holiday back to Friday or forward to Monday.

Deleting Dates on the Federal Holiday Calendar

You may find that you don't observe all of the holidays listed in the Federal Holiday Calendar. If that's the case, you can delete any that you don't need by clicking on the trash icon next to the holiday's name.

Very Important Reminder!

Changing or deleting dates will affect all property contingency date calculations (e.g. task dates, trigger dates, property dates, etc).
