How it works
When a fan opts in through a Bandsintown tool - such as a widget, Smart Link, release page, presale, waitlist, or signup form - their data syncs to Openstage automatically. This creates a new fan profile or enriches an existing one with:
Email address
Phone number (if provided)
Location - city, state, country, and zip code
Campaign type - RSVP, waitlist, presale, release, follow, and more
⚪ Note: Fans who follow or RSVP directly in the Bandsintown app or website are not prompted to share data back to the artist. We do not currently receive data on the specific event a fan interacted with.
Set up Fan Sync
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
Select Bandsintown Fan Sync.
Click Connect Webhook to launch your Bandsintown for Artists account with the correct access token.
Scroll down to the webhook URL section and click Manage.
Enter the unique webhook URL provided by Openstage.
Copy your Secret Key from Bandsintown, paste it into Openstage, and click Save.
Once connected, fans who opt in through Bandsintown flow into Openstage automatically in real time.
Fan Sync tags
Every fan who flows in through Fan Sync is automatically assigned the bandsintown-welcome tag, plus a tag corresponding to the Bandsintown tool they interacted with:
