Step 4. Performing Your First Assessment

Understand correct belt placement, how to attach the DC cables, and how to perform your assessment for the most accurate results.

1. Prepare your Belt

Heavily wet the connection pads on your chest strap. Rubbing the water into each connection pad for 10-15 seconds each side helps ensure a high quality signal.

2. Connect your Biosensor to your Belt

Clip your biosensor onto the chest strap, snapping in the two metal nodes to the clips in the belt.

3. Preparing the DC Electrodes

Connect the leads to your one-time-use electrodes.

4. Ensure Proper Belt and Biosensor Position

Position the belt so the biosensor sits centered on your sternum, 15cm below your armits. The strap should feel snug but com fortable. Check that both electrode pads are making full contact with your skin.

Ensure the usb port in the biosensor is facing downwards towards your feet, this will ensure accurate data capture.

It is extrememly important to place the chest strap as high as it will go on your bust line to ensure a proper reading.

5. Electrode Placement

Plug the lead wires into the biosensor. Each lead is marked with a symbol: place the one with the head symbol on your forehead, and the one with the hand symbol on the palm of your dominant hand.

6. Connect to the OTO Life App

In a seated position, open your OTO Life App on your device, and select “Start As sessment”.

7. Complete Your Assessment

Once your assessment has begun, lie down and close your eyes. The assessment will run for 4 minutes, and will alert you with an audio cue when it is ending. Once you complete your assessment, you will be asked to complete a few questions related to how you are feeling from a subjective point of view.
