Sharing Photos in Mobile Chat Channels

Updated over 2 weeks ago

All mobile app users can share photos in mobile chat channels! Using your device’s camera roll, select any single image or share multiple photos at a time (limit of 10 per message). Once an image has been shared, channel members can tap to view it.

Posting Photos in Chat Channels:

1. Go into any chat and tap the + at the bottom of the screen next to the text block.

2. A pop-up will appear on your screen asking you to select the level of access you wish to grant to your photo library:

  • Limit Access: Allows you to select specific photos that the app can access. The app will not see your entire photo library, only the images you manually choose. Each time you wish to share new photos in a channel, you will need to access your library and select them to post them in the channel.

  • Allow Full Access: This grants the app permission to access your entire photo library.

  • Don’t Access: This completely denies the app access to your photo library. The app will not be able to view, select, or use any of your photos, and you won’t be able to share photos within any channels.

3. If Limit Access is selected, your photo library will open. Tap each photo you wish to share in the channel, then choose Done/Allow. Note: Each time you wish to share photos, the app will ask you to select which photos from your library to select. Tap on the photos you’ve selected from your library that you want to share, then select Attach # items. The photos will appear above the text box for review. If you wish to exclude a photo, you can tap the X in the corner of the photo thumbnail. Tap the send icon to share the photos in the channel.

4. If Allow Full Access is selected, scroll left to view photos in your library. Tap on the photos you want to share, then select Attach # items. The photos will appear above the text box for review. If you wish to exclude a photo, you can tap the X in the corner of the photo thumbnail. Tap the send icon to share the photos in the channel.

Tip: You can go to your mobile device’s Settings area and change the level of access at any time.

5. Once photos are shared in the channel, members can tap to view the photos. If multiple photos were sent in a message, you can scroll back and forth between the photos. To save a photo, tap the three dots in the corner of the photo viewer and select the save photo option.
