Find Candidates to Submit for a Background Check
To begin the process of submitting candidates to Yardstik for background check screenings:
1. Select Risk Management from the navigation..
2. Use the filters on the Initiate Applications Report to find candidates to submit to Yardstik. Applicants who are under the age of 18 based on the provided DOB will not appear in this view. If their DOB is blank, they will still be included on the report.
3. Once filters have been selected, click Run Filters for candidates with matching criteria to display on the screen.
Note: A typical filter combination may be: risk statuses that are ‘Blank’ or ‘Expired’ + specific seasons or team types.
4. You can save a filter by clicking the mini menu after you have run the filter and have provided a filter name. All your saved filters will be kept in the Save Filters drop-down menu for later use.
Submit Candidates for a Background Check
1. Once you have located candidates to submit, check the box next to their name(s) and scroll to the bottom of the view. Select the Initiate button.
2. A dialog box will appear asking to confirm the candidates for submission. Clicking the Send button will send an email notification to the candidate, prompting them to sign in and complete their background check application in Yardstik. Click Send, or to exit, select Cancel.
Note: You must acknowledge the initiation of the candidate before the submission can be completed.
3. Candidates that have been submitted for background check review will be removed from the Initiate Applications report and moved into the All Applications report. The candidate's application is now considered ‘In Progress’ and therefore cannot be submitted again until they have completed the background check process via Yardstik.
