Mix-up games from week to week for league schedule using Scheduling Stratum

Updated over 3 months ago

Scheduling Stratum is used mostly for leagues, although tournaments can utilize it, too. This column tells the system to mix up games for the divisions selected. In each box within Scheduling Stratum a sequence number must be placed (ex. 10, 20, 30, 40, etc). All divisions you are re-generating do NOT need to have a number in this column. Only those divisions you want to scramble should be marked.

Bear in mind it does not choose random times - it always starts at the beginning of the day to stack games - but the divisions being rotated have to use the same permits on the same dates otherwise the effect won’t be noticeable.

For example, three divisions need to be scheduled Division A, Division B, Division C, and Division D. Within Scheduling Stratum, Division A will be marked 10, Division B will marked 10, Division C will be marked 20, and Division D will be marked 20. When the re-generate button is clicked it will mix up the games for these four divisions. Division A and Division B will have games mixed up together first, followed by games for Division C and Division D.

To create a schedule using Scheduling Stratum please follow these steps:

  1. From admin home click on Elements

  2. Choose Scheduling Administration

  3. Select your season and make sure there are no red question marks on the scheduling admin page (except for the ones under Build Games)

  4. Click on Re-generate Games for Selected Divisions (under Output)

  5. Select the division(s) to be regenerated

  6. Input a value in the Scheduling Stratum column for each division selected in step 5

  7. Click the Re-Generate button
