Protected View Page Codes

Updated over 2 weeks ago

We’ve made it simple for administrators to securely create pages that can only be accessed by users using a unique access code.

Protected Views are created when managing pages via the Site Map. However, there is a setting available in addition to Specified User Accounts, titled General Access Code.

The Specified User Accounts option utilizes the current functionality of selecting users who will have granted permission to that Page.

The new General Access Code option displays a code that will act as the password to that specific Page.

If a non-logged-in user attempts to access a Protected View Page, they will receive a message stating that the content requires access credentials.

Pages with Specified User Accounts turned ON will display the User Login form, and login functionality will remain the same.

If the General Access Code option is ON, a new login form interface will appear with a single input titled "Access Code" for administrators to enter.

Public users are able to enter the access code value once it's shared with them. Submitting the correct code value validates their session and displays the content on the page, not requiring them to actually be logged in.

Permissions for the Pages are stored on a temporary basis and will require users to re-enter the General Access Code after 2+ hours of inactivity on the site.
