Public Standings Widget

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Full Admins can now create full-season or group-specific public team standings widgets. The public standings widget is highly customizable, enabling administrators to seamlessly integrate a polished, responsive, and real-time updating team standings display on their website for enhanced viewer accessibility. These widgets are available to post on both OTTO Sport websites or any external website of your choosing.

Follow these steps to create and embed your standings.

Step One: Configuring the Public Standings Widget

1. From the navigation, select Settings > Public Widgets > Scheduling > from the Widget dropdown menu, choose Seasonal Standings.

2. Use the dropdown menu to select the program and season.

3. Choose the parameters for the teams shown in the widget, based on the season selected - either teams in the entire season or teams from specific groupings.

4. Next, choose the ranking criteria you wish to display on the widget. Drag and drop or use the arrows to place criteria into the standings columns. Click the X to remove the criteria from the display.

5. A widget preview will be generated as season, groupings, and ranking criteria selections are made.

6. Once widget selections have been made, choose the destination for the widget:

  • If the widget will be placed on a website that OTTO Sport hosts, select ‘This website’. If selecting ‘This website’ the widget will only function when added to ‘yourorganizationname.ottosport.com’ and ‘yourorganizationname.ottosport-secure.com’

  • If the widget will be placed on a website that is hosted outside OTTO Sport, enter the web address. Once the web address is entered, the widget will only function when added to web pages under the same domain.

7. Click Create Widget.

  • If placed on a website hosted by OTTO Sport: Your widget will now be available for your website. Click on your Site Map link and select the Widget option when adding content to any page.

  • If placing on an external website: Copy the code snippet and embed it into your website. Note: The widget will only function when added to pages under the same domain as designated in the Destination Website section.

Step Two: Adding the Standings Widget to your website

For OTTO Sport Websites:

After you have created your widget, it can be added to any web page under your organization’s domain hosted by OTTO Sport. To add to your website:

1. Go to your site map and locate the page you want to add the widget to, then select the Add Content button. Choose Widget as your content type.

2. Enter a title for the widget, and using the drop-down menus, select the widget type and then select the season and seasonal groupings generated from Step Two above. Click Save once complete.

  • Note: If you do not see your Season or Grouping available, you must return to Step One to generate the widget code first.

For External Websites:

If you are choosing to embed your Standings widget on an externally hosted website, use your copied widget code and place it within any HTML editor. Example below:

Note: When the ‘Seasonal Team Widget Visibility’ is enabled per seasonal team, from any public website widget (Standings, Accepted Teams, or Schedules), team names will be clickable and linked to a Public Team Widget view.
