Full Admins, Schedulers, and Commissioners with permission can control whether coaches are allowed to have overlapping games using the new Prevent Direct Coach Conflicts option in the Schedules product. When this setting is enabled, and the Schedule Generator is used for game creation, the system checks for direct coach conflicts and automatically attempts to place games in the nearest available non-conflicting time slot. If no valid slot is available, the game is set to TBD. Follow the instructions below to enable this feature for your season.
From the navigation, select Programs > choose your program and season > Scheduling.
Click on the edit button at the season or any of the grouping levels, then select Game Scheduling.
Switch the Prevent Direct Coach Conflicts option to ON. (The default setting for this is OFF.)
Click Save once complete.
When using the Schedule Generator, you’ll see a Prevent Direct Coach Conflicts option on Step 3 – Locations, just below Surface Game Date Limit. Choose OFF or ON to control whether the generator checks for overlapping coach schedules. By default, this setting reflects the configuration for the selected grouping, but it can be adjusted here if necessary.
Coaching Conflict System Behaviors
When Prevent Direct Coach Conflicts is turned ON, the Schedule Generator checks for overlapping coach assignments as games are created. If a conflict is found and another valid time slot is available at the assigned surfaces, the system will automatically move the game to the nearest non-conflicting slot.
If no valid time is available, the game’s date and location will be set to TBD. A warning icon will appear next to the TBD time—hover over it to see why the game could not be scheduled, such as a surface, team, or coach conflict.
