Start by unboxing your Oculus Rift S.

You should have the following pieces of kit:

  • 1 x Oculus Rift S Headset

  • 2 x Oculus Touch Controllers

  • 1 x mini display port adapter (found inside the black envelope)

  • 1 x battery for each Touch Controller (found inside the black envelope)

Make sure you have the Oculus Rift S software downloaded onto your computer: https://www.oculus.com/setup/#rift-s-setup

Insert the batteries into your Touch Controllers. You will find a small arrow next to the trigger button on each controller. Slide this panel downwards to open the battery chamber.

Open the Oculus application on your desktop

Connect your Oculus Rift S to your computer

  • Make sure the mini display adapter is attached to the HDMI connector on your Oculus headset

  • Carefully unspool the headset cable making sure that it remains outside of the Oculus headband

  • Plug the Oculus cables into the mini display port and an available USB port on your computer

  • When your Rift S is correctly connected you will see two green ticks next to both inputs on your screen
