Basic Security Rule: Search Engines
Updated over a week ago

This is the lowest form of security for a Document, as it means anyone with the link can view it - If search engines are enabled, search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing can index the document and return it in their search results.

This may the option for you if you have a promotional document that you would like to make available to anyone. However, it should not be used for internal content such as, employee manuals or job offers.

How to create a 'Search Engines' Security Rule

  • Select ‘Documents’ from the main menu.

  • Select ‘Settings’ followed by ‘Security Rules’.

  • Select the ‘Add’ button.

  • Start by entering a name for the Security Rules in the 'Details'.

💡 Make sure the name is clear and recognisable so you know which Security Rule you're looking for when you wish to add it to a Document.

  • Select the 'Search Engines' tab.

  • Select the 'Disable Search Engines' checkbox.

When used, this type of Security Rule will prevent your PageTiger Document Link from appearing in search engine search results, such as Google, Yahoo or Bing.
