Advanced - Modes
Updated over a week ago

Modes should only be used once the TigerPlayer app has been downloaded.

What is a Mode?

A Mode is set up and used to display different documents at different times on your digital screen. It's applied to a Player, making it easy to control what displays and when!

Example Scenario
Star Hotel have three different documents, each of which need to be displayed at different times in their hotel foyer. To do this, they create the three documents first, before setting up a Mode for each.

Document Creation

Before a Mode can be set up, you will need to create the documents that you wish to use.

Three welcome documents have been created by James.

How to set up a Mode

Add a new 'Mode'

  • Select ‘Player’ from the main menu, followed by ‘Modes’.

  • Select the ‘Add’ button.

  • Enter a name for the Mode you are creating.

  • Select ‘Save’ to save the Mode.

James has created a Mode for each of his three documents.

💡 Notice how the name of each Mode is short whilst explaining the type of document that it will display.

Assign a Document 'Mode'

Once a Mode (or Modes) have been created, a document can be assigned to it.

  • Select ‘Player’ from the main menu, followed by ‘Players’.

  • Select ‘Manage Player’, followed by ‘Documents'.

A table will then be displayed listing each Mode - from here, simply choose which document to assign to a Mode.

  • Select the Folder, Document, and Version that you want to display for a Mode.

  • Select the checkbox for the Mode you want to make live.

James has assigned each document to its equivalent Mode.

💡 Notice how the 'Welcome Message - Morning' Mode is currently ticked - this means it is the active Mode for the player.

How to switch Mode

The active Mode for a player can be controlled remotely, so you don't need to be where it is to change which document is being played!

You must be an Account Owner to switch the Mode of a Player.

  • Select ‘Player’ from the main menu, followed by ‘Players’.

  • Select ‘Manage Player', followed by ‘Documents’.

  • Simply select the checkbox for the Mode you would like to be ‘Active’.

1. Sarah is the manager of Star Hotel and would like the morning document to be available to her guests.

At 7am, James logs into his PageTiger account and makes the ‘Welcome Message – Morning’ Mode active.

Sarah is happy, as her guests are all greeted with a morning welcome, along with the breakfast menu.

----

2. When it reaches 1pm, Sarah has asked James to set the afternoon document live.

James checks the 'Active' box for the ‘Welcome Message – Afternoon’ Mode and the document changes over.

The digital screen in the foyer now presents the lunch menu, should any guests wish to see what's on offer during their stay.

----

3. At 5pm, Sarah is ready for the evening document to go live.

James changes the Mode to ‘Welcome Message – Evening’ at the click of a button, all from the comfort of his desk.

The evening welcome message is now available and guests can view the dinner menu and complete a feedback survey about their stay.
