  • Make sure the system is ready for use:

    • Click on the system tray option, hover your mouse over the AssureID “A” icon and it should say “AssureID: Ready”

    • If the service has stopped and the AssureID “A” icon has a red “x” on top of it, you’ll need to start the service by right-clicking on the AssureID “A” icon, then clicking “Start Service”

  • On the PALIDIN home screen, make sure you see the “Scanner Status: Online” (lower right corner of the screen) and “Insert a document to begin scanning” message.

  • Insert the ID1 type document with the front of the document facing up and the magnetic stripe to the right (as shown below). This is important because the magnetic stripe reader is situated on the right side of the scanner.

  • Once the PALIDIN application has completed the inspection of the document, it will display the results (see Appendix A). Inspection results can be: Passed, Failed, Attention! or Unknown.

    • Passed – this means the application was able to classify and authenticate the document. No further action required.

    • Failed + Explanation(s) – this means the document failed to pass multiple inspection tests. The “Authentication” page in the Inspection Navigation Options will detail the tests that failed and instructions on how to verify and confirm the test on the document. You should follow internal business protocol on how to deal with a fraudulent document.

    • Attention! + Explanation – this means the system was able to classify and authenticate the document but it found an item that needs to be reviewed. Examples of this result are: a document that has expired or a document that has a damaged magnetic stripe. You should follow internal business protocol on how to deal with this situation.

    • Unknown – this means the application was not able to classify the document. As such, it could not authenticate it. This normally happens for one of two reasons: (1) the document is not a part of the library (the document is “untrained”), or (2) the document is of poor quality forgery. You should follow internal business protocol on how to deal with this situation (e.g. have a supervisor or manager inspect the document)

  • To save a transaction report manually (if automatic saving is not enabled), click the “Actions” menu on the top right corner of the main result screen then click “Save Report” from the drop-down menu options.

  • To print a transaction report, click the “Actions” menu on the top right corner of the main result screen then click “Print Transaction Report” from the drop-down menu options.

  • Repeat steps 2-5 on the next document.
