Auto-sync is a setting that re-imports your connected data source into your PamPam map once every day — automatically. Instead of manually hitting "Sync now" each time your data changes, you can flip a toggle and let PamPam handle it for you. It's perfect for keeping a live map fresh without any extra work.
Note:
Auto-sync is only available on Business and Advanced plans.
Auto-sync is not available for CSV imports. Since CSVs are file-based, there's no live source for PamPam to pull from. For CSV maps, use "Sync now" manually instead.
This is helpful when:
Your map pulls from a Google Sheet, Airtable, or Notion database that gets updated regularly
You want viewers to always see the latest spots without you needing to remember to sync
You manage a map for a client or team and updates happen in the background
How to turn on auto-sync
Open your PamPam map and go to the Imports panel.
Connect a supported data source if you haven't already. Supported sources: Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion
Find the "Auto-sync daily" row, just below the "Mode" setting.
Click the toggle to switch it from "Off" to "On".
Note: No further configuration is needed — PamPam will automatically pick up your map at the next scheduled run.
Important: Make sure your sync "Mode" is set the way you want it before auto-sync runs.
"Match" — updates existing spots, adds new ones, and removes deleted ones
"Only add" — adds new rows only, never removes anything
Best practices for using auto-sync:
Keep your Airtable or Notion credentials (tokens) active. If a token gets revoked or expires, the sync will fail and you'll see a red error under "Last synced." Re-connect the source to fix it.
For Google Sheets, make sure the sheet stays shared with the account you used to connect it.
Auto-sync runs once a day at 03:00 UTC — you can't change the schedule. If you need your map to update in near-real time from Google Sheets, check out the Webhook option in the Advanced section of your Imports panel instead, which works with Forms.
You can always hit "Sync now" at any time to force an immediate update, even with auto-sync turned on.
