How to get started with PamPam

Making your first interactive map with PamPam

Updated over a week ago

PamPam is a way to make and share simple maps on the web. You can add multiple pins to a map, and then share that as an interactive map.

PamPam is not great for data visualizations, static maps or printed maps. But, PamPam is great at travel guides, real estate maps, wedding maps, event maps, community resource maps, store locators and more.

Here's how to get started in five steps.

1. Go to PamPam City

Click on "Profile" to go to your profile, or choose a way to get started: from a prompt, start from scratch, notion or a google Sheets.

2. Make a map - If you go to your profile, click on "Make a map" to make a make a map. Your profile is where you will see all your maps. You know you're in your profile because it will have your name on it.

3. Add spots - After you click "Make a map", you will be in a new blank map. This is where you can start building your map!

To add spots here:

  • Make sure the toggle is in "Edit" mode, you'll see the toolbar below

  • Add spots by clicking "Add"

  • To add an arbitrary point on the map use the "red pin" in the toolbar

4. Imports & more - In the PamPam editor, there are multiple ways to add a spot once you click "Add". In most cases, you'll want to "search by name or address". Or you can add with AI, or through Google Sheets, CSV, and other imports.

5. Customize - Once you've added some spots, click on the Gear icon in the toolbar to customize your map panel, list and pins.

When you're done with your map, you can click "Share" to share the link directly with someone, or embed the map on your website. Or make a map video or image.
