Making your first interactive map with PamPam

Updated over a month ago

PamPam is a way to make and share simple maps on the web. You can add multiple pins to a map, and then share that as an interactive map.

PamPam is not great for data visualizations, static maps or printed maps. But, PamPam is great at travel guides, real estate maps, wedding maps, event maps, community resource maps, store locators and more.

Here's how to get started in five steps.

  1. Go to PamPam City

Here, you can start chatting to make a map and then click share.

2. If you want to make a custom map with your own sources, then click on the plus icon to "Create" or on the user profile to log in.

3. If you click "Create" then you can see a list of ways to create a map, like importing from a URL, text, spreadsheet. Or you can just create a blank map.

4. If you click "create blank map" then you'll be in the PamPam Editor.

To add spots here:

  • Make sure the toggle is in "Edit" mode, you'll see the toolbar below

  • Add spots by clicking "Add"

  • To add an arbitrary point on the map use the "red pin" in the toolbar

5. In the PamPam editor, there are multiple ways to add a spot once you click "Add". In most cases, you'll want to "search by name or address". Or you can add with AI, or through imports.
