RCS - MMS / Group Text Issue Troubleshooting

RCS Advanced Messaging, also known as Rich Communication Services (RCS), is an enhanced messaging feature built into the manufacturer’s messaging app on supported smartphones. It provides an improved messaging experience by allowing larger multimedia file transfers and offering interactive notifications such as typing indicators, delivery confirmations, and read receipts.

Common Issues:

  • Unable to receive text messages in group text

  • Getting issues receiving or sending photo message through MMS

  • Blurry or pixelated images

For iOS User

Make sure that your OS version is updated to at least iOS 18 or later and connected to either Cellular Data or Wi-Fi.

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Messages

  3. Tap RCS Messaging

  4. Toggle RCS Messaging ON

For Android User

Make sure that you are connected to either Cellular Data or Wi-Fi.

  1. Open Google Messages

  2. Tap your profile picture (top right)

  3. Tap Message settings

  4. Tap RCS chats or Chat features

  5. Toggle Enable RCS chats ON

  6. Make sure Status shows Connected
