How to Create Kit and Components

Learn how to create Kits and components in your BOM and how to display it in your quote or submittal package.

Step 1: Create a Kit

  1. Select products associated to the kit

  2. Click Create Kit () icon

  3. Name the Kit

    • Click into the parent line to enter the manufacturer and model number

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you're looking to add multiple datasheets to a single product, you can add those additional datasheets to the components!

πŸ’‘ Tip: To remove a components from a kit, you can click on the three vertical dots and select Remove from kit


Use Case 1 - Quoting

  1. Add pricing to the components and it will auto-calculate to the kit line

    πŸ’‘ Tip: If it is a lot, you will add it to the kit line.

  2. When ready to generate your quote click Create Quote

    1. You have the option to show the components by toggling on "show kit breakdown" in the Pricing and Lead time tab.

      1. Note: this will only show the component details, not the pricing


Use Case 2 - Submittals and O&Ms

  1. Once a kit has been created, you can choose to add datasheets to the kit or components

    πŸ’‘Tip: Adding a datasheet only to components will have the datasheets roll up to the kit line

  2. When you're ready to compile the submittal, click Create Document, Create Submittal

    1. Expand on the Contents Formatting section to show or hide the kit breakdown

      1. Toggling off Show Kit Breakdown will hide the components from the table of contents

      2. Toggling on Show Kit Breakdown will have the components listed on the table of contents
