How to Compile a Submittal

Build a polished, customer-ready Submittal or O&M package directly from your project — with a custom cover page, formatted table of contents, and flexible sharing options including engagement tracking.

1. Start Your Submittal

  1. From your project, click Create DocumentCreate Submittal.

  2. You'll see customization options before compiling — work through each step below.

2. Customize the Cover Page

  1. Choose from two cover page layouts or upload your own.

  2. Review the Prepared By and Customer Information fields — these are automatically pulled from your project.

Tip: Keep your project details up to date — they flow into cover pages automatically across all documents.

3. Customize the Table of Contents

  1. Review your project's line items in the Table of Contents.

  2. Toggle on or off which details to display per line item.

  3. Model numbers are automatically hyperlinked for easy navigation.

  4. Any notes added in the Submittal Notes column roll up into a Summary Layout.

4. Customize Header & Footer

  1. Add custom text and logos to appear at the top and bottom of every page.

5. Adjust Content Formatting

  1. Adjust formatting options including:

    • Types of documents to include

    • Section breaks

    • Kit/component breakdowns

    • Page fitting (especially useful for drawings)

6. Compile your Submittal

  1. Click Create Submittal to generate the document.

  2. Scroll through the full package to review:

    • Cover page

    • Table of contents with clickable links

    • Highlighted notes and markups

    • Indexed navigation back to the TOC

7. Share your Submitta

Once compiled, choose how to share:

  • Email directly via Outlook integration.

  • Download as PDF.

  • Copy shareable link — lets customers access the package online. You can track:

    • Who viewed your package

    • Which version was accessed

    • If it was printed or downloaded (with date & time)

Tip: The shareable link can be password protected, open to all users, or restricted to specific email addresses for greater control.
