We’re excited to support you and your baby! Preparing ahead of time will help you get the most out of your visit and allow your lactation consultant (IBCLC) to focus fully on your needs.

🧳 What to Bring (or Have Nearby)
Support Person (optional): Having a support person with you is recommended, but not required.
Feeding Tools: Bring or have nearby any feeding equipment you’re using, such as pumps, shields, shells, bottles, or ointments.
Your Questions: Write down any questions you want to ask during the appointment.
Your Comfort: Bring water and a snack for yourself—we’ve got diapers, wipes, and changing tables covered at our offices if needed.
Feeding Your Baby Before the Visit
Try to arrive with your baby in the “starting to get hungry” stage—not overly hungry. This helps your consultant observe a full feeding session. You know your baby best. You may adjust previous feeding times to align with your appointment time.
The following guidelines will help you time your feeds on the day of the appointment.
Baby is 4 days to 14 days old -> Feed about 1.5 hours before the appointment.
Baby is 15 days old to 1 month old -> Feed about 2 hours before the appointment.
📋 After Your Appointment
Take a moment. Process the visit. 🧘♀️
Start using the care plan provided by your lactation consultant with your next feed.
