What should I do if my dog or cat does not eat Pawy Meals?

Difficulties with palatability / Does not like Pawy / Difficult dog or cat

Updated this week

Sometimes our furry friends have difficulty changing their habits (even if it's for something better😊).

Here are several options you can try:

  1. Test our 4 recipes. Like us, our furry companions sometimes have their preferences.

  2. Slightly warm up the meal; it might be too cold for their taste. This will release the aromas of our recipes, making them appetizing and enjoyable.

  3. Hand feed them. Try giving individual pieces of their food by hand. This can comfort them and encourage them to eat.

  4. Another solution could be to mix in a very small amount of broth.

  5. Avoid treats during the transition phase. We know it's hard but treats can lead to picky eating habits.

  6. Establish a regular feeding program. Very important for picky eaters. Plan for consistent feeding times (morning/evening), same time. Leave the plate with food for 30min max and then remove it (even if your pet did not eat it). Next meal will be offered at the next feeding time. This will allow your pet to learn food is only available at certain times and they will also be more motivated/hungry to eat on the next offering. Consistency is key. We know it's hard at the start but it very well worth the long term benefit.

  7. Consult your veterinarian if your pet's picky eating persists and you're concerned about their nutritional intake. You will get personalized recommendations.

This process can take some time, and often just requires patience and persistence for a few days. But as the saying goes, love knows no bounds.

Pawy offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of our trial boxes so even if your pet doesn't like the meals, it's risk free for you.
