Why didn't my workout update after I changed my equipment?

What to expect when you add or remove equipment, and how to refresh your workout if needed.

Written by Ivan Escott

Equipment changes don't always update your current workout right away. What happens depends on whether you added or removed equipment.

When removing equipment: your current workout should update right away. If it hasn't, and if the workout is for today, remove the workout and re-add it manually: tap the workout on the Training Dashboard, tap the three-dot icon in the top right, and tap "Remove Workout." Then tap "Add workout" and find the same workout under "Suggested workouts." You'll get a version that no longer includes the removed equipment.

When adding equipment: you may not see an immediate change, since the exercises already scheduled may not have been built around the new equipment. You'll typically see it work its way into your workouts in the next Phase. To use it sooner, use Replace Exercise to find a substitute that uses the equipment you added.

When making a major change (like adding or removing a barbell): Peak Strength will ask whether you want to rebuild your Training Plan. Since workouts are structured differently without a barbell, we recommend rebuilding for any long-term change.
