Generally, FSM eligibility flags are sent from your MIS to Tali when a new pupil is uploaded or when an existing pupil’s status changes to indicate FSM entitlement.
FSM allowances are applied daily at a time chosen by your organisation - usually just before the scheduled first usage time of the allowance.
Note: If a pupil is added to the MIS after the daily FSM allocation time, they will not receive FSM for that day. For example, if a pupil is admitted and added to the MIS on a Monday, they will not appear in Pebble until the MIS syncs overnight. Their FSM allowance will then apply from Tuesday morning, assuming the FSM is not scheduled to be applied very early.
Any unused FSM balance is swept at the end of each day and will be reapplied the following morning, provided the pupil remains entitled.
Troubleshooting FSM Issues
If FSM allowances are not being applied:
Check your MIS: Ensure the FSM entitlement is recorded correctly. The most common causes of missing FSM in Pebble are:
The MIS is not sending the correct information
FSM status is stored in an incorrect location
The FSM entitlement has expired (check the end date)
MIS changes update overnight: Any updates made in your MIS will not reflect in Tali until the following day.
Check Xporter on Demand: This service links your MIS to Pebble. If it is not running or running incorrectly, FSM data may not transfer. Refreshing Xporter on the Xporter portal or contacting Groupcall Xporter support may resolve the issue.
Verifying FSM Status in Tali
To check a pupil's FSM status in Tali:
Go to Tali > Admin > Manage Names.
FSM eligibility should appear as a Group next to the pupil’s name.
