When you get to the end of the year or anytime a person leaves your organisation and requires a refund you can follow this process for payments made by sQuid.
Firstly, it all depends on how you would refund physically - back to card or by a bank transfer or cheque.
By cheque/bank transfer/BACS/Direct debit - you would just record the expenditure out of your bank account as you would any other expenditure transaction. Replicating this in Tali if you reconcile your bank in Tali (not required for Till customers) or you need to show the refund in Tali by this method.
Using this method - Record Expenditure
By sQuid - this will depend on how long ago the transactions were made, if the card is still valid etc.
sQuid generally tends not to refund to card, but instead, return money to a 'Purse'. The sQuid payer would need to then request that these funds be refunded back to card themselves using their sQuid login.
Refunds on sQuid do not flow back into Tali because of this. If you process this type of transaction in sQuid then you will need to 'Record Expenditure' in Tali for the Refund manually as an ePayment, against the Settlement bank account so when sQuid settles to your organisation less this money these refunds are accounted for.
The alternative to this is that you use a CSV import of these refunds as ePayments against the Settlement bank account if you have a large amount to process at once.
Here is how to do this - Import Transactions
