You're not alone - many users find it easy to contract but harder to release quickly enough to hit targets in the game.
As surprising as it sounds, relaxation is often the hardest part of the Kegel technique. It’s completely normal if you haven’t mastered it fully yet—your pelvic floor, like any other muscle group, needs time to learn both contraction and release.
Why Is It Hard to Relax Quickly?
There are a few possible reasons for this:
Residual tension – Your pelvic floor might be holding on to a bit of contraction without fully releasing. This is common, especially if the muscles are used to staying engaged.
Lack of control over relaxation – Just like contracting, relaxing is an active movement. Your brain and muscles need time to learn how to release efficiently.
Overactivity or tightness – If the pelvic floor is naturally tense, letting go quickly might feel difficult.
How to Improve Relaxation Speed
The good news is that relaxation speed can improve with practice! Here are a few things to try:
Breathe with your movement – Inhale deeply as you relax, letting your pelvic floor drop naturally with your breath.
Focus on the full release – Instead of just stopping the contraction, actively think about softening the muscles completely.
Use visual feedback – Watch the game visuals closely and concentrate on how your character reacts when you let go. This will help you connect the movement with your relaxation speed.
Practice outside the game – Throughout the day, try gentle contractions followed by full releases to improve muscle response.
If you continue to struggle with relaxation, it may be helpful to check in with a pelvic floor specialist to ensure everything is working as it should.
