Improving Speed
Updated over 2 weeks ago

Speed is the ability of your pelvic floor to squeeze and relax quickly. A quick pelvic floor will help you react to sudden moves (such as changing position, laughing, or sneezing).

The Speed indicator presented by Perifit is computed during the Fitness Test as the number of pulses you can do in 10 seconds. An essential (and very challenging!) part of Speed is your ability to let go of any tension and let your pelvic floor go back to a fully relaxed state. If you struggle with this part, read our article about Improving Relaxation.

Tips to work on Speed

  • Use the Flipper Beach game

Exercise in Practice Lab to practice Speed

Start relaxed. Take your time if you need to.

Then, do as many pulses as possible (go from the bottom of the screen to your maximum strength). You can start by doing this exercise for 10 seconds. Once you get comfortable, increase the exercise duration to 20 seconds, and then 30seconds.
