Not every message should be sent right after the funnel. Sometimes it’s better to wait a few hours or days – for example with follow-ups, reminders, or a welcome series. That’s exactly what Automation Delays are for.

With this feature, you decide when your automated messages (email or WhatsApp) go out – immediately, after 2 hours, or even 7 days later.

Your benefits with Automation Delays

With Automation Delays, you gain much more flexibility in timing your communication. You can:

  • Send follow-ups automatically with a delay

  • Plan multiple messages as a small sequence

  • Automate reminders without having to think about them

  • Reach leads & customers exactly at the right moment

That means: consistent communication, more relevance – and less manual work.

Practical examples for Automation Delays

Here are some examples of how many companies successfully use Automation Delays – and how you can apply them to your own processes:

Recruiting

  • 📬 Follow-up after application
If an applicant does not meet certain criteria (e.g. not enough experience or living in a country where you are currently not hiring), you can automatically send a rejection email 2 days after the application was submitted.

  • 🔔 Reminders for work samples
After the interview, you immediately send a work sample – then after 3 days a reminder about the deadline, and after 7 days an automated message that the deadline has passed and the work sample will now be reviewed.

Sales & Lead Nurturing

  • 👋 Welcome sequence
New leads get a welcome email right away, after 3 days an introduction to your offer, and after 7 days an invitation to a call or more information.

  • 🎯 Lead nurturing
Don’t just send one message after first contact – build in multiple follow-ups with delays so you stay top of mind without manually following up each time.

  • 🎉 Time-based promo campaigns
Leads who indicated in the funnel that they are “Interested in promotions” automatically receive a campaign email or a discount code after 6 months.

Customer Onboarding

  • 🚀 Onboarding series for new customers
After purchase: Day 0 = welcome email, Day 3 = first steps, Day 7 = advanced tips. This way, your customers learn how to use your product step by step.

  • 📖 Sharing valuable resources over time
Instead of sending everything at once, you can deliver guides, best practices, or video tutorials spread out over several days.

Community & Education

  • 📚 Delivering learning content in stages
When leads sign up for a freebie or course, you can deliver the content step by step – for example, one lesson every other day.

  • 💡 Event follow-up
Right after a webinar or workshop, a thank-you email is sent. After 2 days, an automated email with the main takeaways or the recording follows.

💡 Pro tip: Use Automation Delays together with Automation Conditions. For example, you can send delayed messages only to leads who gave a specific answer in your funnel.

Conclusion

Automation Delays make your funnels more flexible.
You decide when your leads receive your messages – immediately, after hours, or after days. This enables powerful automations:

  • Follow-ups that don’t go out immediately

  • Welcome or nurturing sequences

  • Automated reminders and time-based campaigns

  • Onboarding, learning content, and event follow-up

In short: more relevance, less effort, better communication.
