How AI credits work

How your monthly AI allowance works, and what happens if you run out

Every paid Perspective plan comes with a monthly AI credit allowance. Credits power the AI features inside Perspective, starting with the AI Block and more AI features rolling out soon. This article covers what credits are, how they refresh, and what to do when you run out.

What you get with your plan

Your plan includes a monthly AI credit allowance, refreshed on the same day each month. The current allocations are:

  • Base: 40 credits per month

  • Grow: 150 credits per month

  • Expand: 500 credits per month

  • Scale: 1,500+ credits per month, pooled across your workspace (custom contract)

Credits are part of what you already pay for. Your plan price doesn't change.

What you can use them for

Credits power AI features inside Perspective. At the moment this is the AI Block but there are more AI features are coming over the next few weeks. These will also use credits.

Credits are only consumed when you actively use an AI feature, for example when you click the AI Block generate button or ask the AI Chat to create a funnel. Nothing burns credits in the background.

Why one AI generation costs more than another

Each AI request consumes credits proportional to the work behind it. Longer outputs, more complex prompts, and certain features cost more. The credit counter updates per request so you can see exactly what each operation cost. A typical AI Funnel creation uses 3 to 10 credits. An AI Block generation uses a handful, depending on length.

Where to see your balance

You can see your current credit balance any time in Settings → Subscription → AI Credits. The view shows your usage for the month, your total allowance, and your next reset date.

When credits refresh

Credits refresh once a month, on the same day of the month as the start of your subscription. For example, if your subscription started on March 14, your credits reset on April 14, May 14, and so on. Yearly and monthly plans both refresh credits monthly.

What happens when you run out

When your monthly allowance runs out, AI features lock and a paywall appears with two options:

  • Upgrade your plan for a larger monthly allowance, effective immediately.

  • Add extra AI credits to your current plan for a higher recurring monthly allowance.

Your funnels, leads, and everything outside of AI features continue to work normally. Only the AI generation features pause until you resolve.

Rollover

The monthly credits of your plan reset every month. They do not roll over ℹ️

If you change your plan

Upgrading. When you upgrade to a higher tier, you receive the new tier's full monthly allowance immediately. The upgrade day becomes your new monthly reset date. Example: a Base customer who upgrades to Grow on the 20th of the month gets 150 fresh Grow credits on the spot, available until the 20th of next month.

Downgrading. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. From your next cycle, you receive the new tier's allowance as a fresh baseline. Unused plan-allocation credits do not carry across a downgrade.

If your payment fails or you cancel

Payment fails or your subscription enters dunning. Your credits are preserved while you're in dunning. Once you update your payment method, your full balance is available again.

Voluntary cancellation. When you cancel your subscription, your unused credits are cancelled with it. The credits were part of the plan price you paid, and aren't separately refundable.

Common questions

Are you raising my plan price?

No. AI credits are bundled into your existing plan at no extra cost.

Can I disable AI to make sure I don't burn credits accidentally?

You don't need to. Credits are only consumed when you actively use an AI feature. There's no background usage.

What if I'm on a yearly plan?

Your credits refresh monthly, not yearly. Yearly plans only affect how often you're billed for the subscription itself.

Can I get a refund on credits I think were used for a bad result?

Credits are consumed by the AI request, not by the quality of the output. If you have a specific case where an AI feature returned something clearly broken, contact support and we can review.
