1. Your funnel includes many high-resolution images

Using a high number of larger images with high resolution often leads to slowing down the loading time based on processing a huge amount of data.

You can easily prevent this from happening by integrating fewer images into your funnel. Alternatively, it may help to adjust the image quality by compressing images using a common image editing program.

2. Gifs with more than 200 frames

Gifs with more than 200 frames (total) can have negative impact on the loading time. Therefore we do not recommend using gifs with more than 200 frames.

3. Your funnel has a high page count

A high page count also accounts for a significant amount of data, which can result in longer loading times. You can prevent this from happening by minimizing the page count.

Our team recommends a page count of about 3 to 8 pages per funnel based on performance results we’ve seen from our clients and our own funnels. In other words, your funnel fulfills its primary purpose of generating new leads without compromising quality or becoming too boring for your funnel visitors.

4. You have embedded videos using the YouTube API

Due to Youtube’s increasing number of users, the platform is forced to limit the API. As a result, your video takes longer to load compared to the other funnel content which in turn leads to extended loading times.

Our tip to get around the issue: Integrate your videos using platforms like Vimeo.

Note 💡

To properly embed the respective media player, a specific URL structure is required depending on the platform. You can find examples of the correct URL structures here.

5. You use source codes in your funnel

This happens when you integrate Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram). Why? Because the size and number of source codes used can potentially cause delays in loading your funnel.

Our tip for you: Make use of so-called GTM snippets supported by Google Tag Manager. This tool is mainly used to manage and implement HTML and JavaScript tags, and can help you in streamlining the source codes used.

How can I make sure I achieve the ideal loading time in my funnel?

Perspective utilizes one of the fastest technologies to provide your funnel with the best possible loading time.

After optimizing your funnel as described in the 5 steps above, you can go ahead and check the loading time of your funnel. To assess your funnel's performance, we recommend using PageSpeed Insights from GTmetrix.

Simply enter the link to your funnel on the website and click on "test your site".

You will be provided with both a general assessment and a detailed overview of your funnel’s loading time.

Note 💡

This analysis is intended to be used as a rough guideline and may not be entirely accurate, as GTmetrix can sometimes provide different results for the same funnel.

Next to that, different measurement tools might offer you different values due to variations in categories, limits, and thresholds used to classify their results.
