Connect your own domain to your Perspective account to publish funnels under your brand. Here’s how to set it up and what to know before you start.

Before you get started

Keep these two important points in mind before setting up your domain.

Can I use the domain of my website?

No - your funnel can’t run on the same domain as your website.
If your website is already live on e.g. domain.com, you’ll need to use either:

  • a subdomain, like funnel.domain.com or jobs.domain.com, or

  • a different root domain, like mydomain.com

Can I connect a root domain?

At the moment, most domain providers don’t allow the CNAME setup required to connect a root domain. This includes providers such as All-Inkl., GoDaddy, IONOS, Squarespace - among others.

If your provider doesn’t support it, the solution is simple: use a subdomain instead, like, e.g. funnel.domain.com, www.domain.com or jobs.domain.com etc.

Connecting your domain with Perspective - this is how it works

Watch this video or follow the steps below:

1. Add your domain to your Perspective account:

In your “All Funnels” view, click the icon in the upper-right corner and select “Domains” to access your domain settings.

Then click “Add Domain” and choose “Connect your own Domain”:

2. Create a CNAME record with your domain provider

Log in to your account at your domain provider and create a CNAME record within your DNS settings - You’ll need to enter two values:

A) Host (sometimes called “Name”):

➡️ For a subdomain (like jobs.domain.com or www.domain.com): enter only the part before the first dot (in this example: "jobs" or "www").

➡️ For a root domain (like domain.com): enter "@" - but remember, most domain provider do not support the CNAME setup required to connect a root domain.

B) Value / Target:

cname.perspective-dns.com.

Example setups 💡

Subdomain: jobs.domain.com → Host: jobs | Value: cname.perspective-dns.com.

Root Domain: domain.com → Host: @ | Value: cname.perspective-dns.com.

Note: SSL Certificate

No need to activate the SSL certificate via your domain provider - we automatically provide one once you connect your domain with your Perspective account and your CNAME is set up. ✅

➡️ If your domain has a SSL certificate active, please deactivate it within your DNS settings at your domain provider.

Exemption: Redirects 💡

The SSL certificate we provide only works for the domain you actually connect to Perspective.

If you try to redirect another domain (like your main domain e.g. domain.com) to your connected subdomain (funnel.domain.com), that redirected domain (domain.com) won’t automatically be covered by our SSL.

3. Give it time

Depending on the provider, the domain connection can take up to 24 hours to fully work.

4. Publish your funnel

When your domain is connected with your Perspective account, follow this guide to publish your funnel(s) on it. 🚀
