Create CNAME entry
To fully link the domain to Perspective, you need to create a CNAME record with your domain registrar. Only then will the funnels be accessible on this linked domain.
1. Log in to the account https://www.strato.de/apps/CustomerService
2. Switch to the “Domains” > “Domainverwaltung” area and click on the cogwheel
3. Click on “DNS” for your domain
4. Click on “Manage” under "TXT und CNAME Records inklusive SPF- und DKIM-Einstellungen"
5. Scroll down and click on "+ Weiteren Record erstellen"
6. Now select “CNAME Eintrag ändern”, enter “cname.perspective-dns.com.” in the form field, check the box to confirm and click on “Einstellungen übernehmen” (please note the dot at the end of the CNAME)
Präfix: Hier trägst du den Subdomain-Part deiner Domain (das ist der Part vor dem ersten Punkt also termin
bei termin.domain.com) ein
Type: CNAME
Wert: cname.perspective-dns.com.
7. The CNAME entry was successfully created
8. Check the status of the domain or call up the instructions again
Note 💡 Depending on the domain provider, the recognition of the CNAME entry takes up to 24 hours and thus also the waiting time until the funnel becomes visible on your domain. |
Set up redirection
If you want to use your domain without the subdomain part (e.g. domain.com instead of www.domain.com), you must set up a forwarding for this.
1. switch to the “Domains” > “Domainverwaltung” area
2. Change the redirection destination settings and save your changes
Bestehendes Umleitungsziel: extern
Umleitungsziel: "https://www.domain.com" (replace www.domain.com with your own domain name i.e. funnel.domain.com)
Umleitungstyp: Permanente Weiterleitung 301
3. The forwarding was set up successfully
Note 💡 Please note that our SSL certificate only works for the linked domain (www.domain.com). You therefore need a separate SSL certificate for the root domain (domain.com). If this certificate is missing, security warnings can be generated by the browser as soon as a funnel is called.
Here you can find instructions on how to activate an SSL certificate at Strato and then set it up for your domain. |
