Create CNAME entry

To fully link the domain to Perspective, you need to create a CNAME record with your domain registrar. Only then will the funnels be accessible on this linked domain.

1. Log in to the account https://login.ionos.de

2. Switch to the "Domains & SSL" section

3. Click on the cogwheel icon next to your domain and then on "DNS".

4. Now click on "Record hinzufügen"

5. select the tab "CNAME" in the overview

6. Fill in the fields and click save

Typ: CNAME

Hostname: Enter the subdomain part of your domain (this is the part before the first dot, i.e. jobs at jobs.domain.co)

Zeigt auf: cname.perspective-dns.com

TTL: 1 Stunde

7. The CNAME entry was successfully created

8. Check the status of the domain or call the instructions again

Note 💡

Depending on the domain provider, the recognition of the CNAME entry takes up to 24 hours and thus also the waiting time until the funnel becomes visible on your domain.

Set up forwarding

If you want to use your domain without the subdomain part (i.e. www.), you have to set up a redirect for it.

1. Switch to the "Domains & SSL" section

2. Click on the cogwheel -> "Verwendungsart anpassen"

3. Select "Domain Weiterleitung" in the overview list

4. Change the target settings and save the changes

Typ: Beliebige URL

Weiterleitungsziel:
"https://www.domain.com" (replace "domain.com" with your domain name)

Disable "Set up also for www subdomain".

Weiterleitungsart: Enable "HTTP-Weiterleitung (Empfohlen)

5. The forwarding was successfully set up

Note 💡

Please note that our SSL certificate only works for the linked domain (www.domain.com). You therefore need a separate SSL certificate for the root domain (domain.com). If this certificate is missing, security warnings may be generated by the browser when a funnel is called.

Here you can find instructions on how to purchase an SSL certificate from IONOS and then integrate it for your domain.
