Bot Pause Feature (Spot & Futures)

The Bot Pause feature allows you to temporarily stop the bot's automated order placement and arbitrage activities while preserving all existing positions and grid parameters.

What is the Bot Pause Feature?

The Bot Pause feature allows you to temporarily stop the bot's automated trading activities (including order placement and arbitrage execution) without closing or settling your bot order.

After the bot is paused, all open orders will be canceled and no further trades will be executed. During this period, the bot will retain its current grid parameters and position status. Once you choose to resume the bot, it will immediately continue trading based on the original grid settings and parameters at the current market price, without requiring any reconfiguration.

FAQ

Q: After pausing a bot, will my held assets be sold?

A: No. The pause feature only cancels all unfilled orders. Your existing assets or futures positions will not be sold automatically. The funds will remain allocated to the bot and will not be returned to your available balance.

Q: Will my Take Profit and Stop Loss settings remain effective after pausing the bot?

A: Yes. During the pause period, the Take Profit and Stop Loss conditions configured in the bot will still be triggered (enabled by default when paused) to help protect your positions from extreme market movements.

Q: Will funding fees continue to accrue during the pause period (for Futures Bots)?

A: Yes. As long as your futures position remains open, funding fees will continue to be charged or credited according to the exchange's funding schedule. Pausing the bot does not close your position; it only stops the bot from placing new orders.

Q: After resuming a paused bot, from which state will it continue?

A: After resuming, the bot will continue trading based on its original grid settings and parameters. It will recalculate and place buy/sell orders using the current market price as the reference and continue executing the automated trading strategy.

Q: Do all bots support the Pause feature?

A: Most mainstream Pionex bots (such as Grid Trading Bot, Futures Moon Bot, Futures Grid Bot, etc.) support the Pause feature.

Some specialized strategy bots (such as Dual Investment, Martingale Bot, and Signal Bot) may have different functionality and therefore may not support this feature. Please refer to the actual options displayed in the App.

Q: Can I modify a bot's parameters while it is paused?

A: No. Grid parameters (such as price range and grid quantity) cannot be modified while the bot is in a paused state.

Q: Will pausing a bot affect my profit statistics?

A: No. Previously recorded profit data will not be affected. During the pause period, no new grid arbitrage profits will be generated. After resuming, profits will continue to accumulate under the same bot statistics. Please note that if positions remain open while the bot is paused, fluctuations in market prices may still affect the value of those positions. As a result, any related profit and loss changes will continue to be reflected in the Trend PnL.

Q: Is there a time limit for how long a bot can remain paused?

A: Currently, Pionex does not impose any mandatory time limit on the pause duration. You may resume the bot whenever you choose.

However, please note that significant market fluctuations may occur during extended pause periods. We recommend reviewing your positions regularly.

Q: After pausing a bot, will the bot's Total PnL stop changing as well?

A: No. If positions are still being held while the bot is paused, the Trend PnL will continue to fluctuate based on market price movements.

Q: What is the difference between pausing a bot and stopping a bot?

A: Pause = Cancels all open orders while retaining positions and bot parameters. No further trading will occur during the pause period, but the bot can be resumed at any time with a single click. Funds will not be returned, and if positions remain open, the Trend PnL will continue to change.

Stop = Cancels all open orders and allows you to either keep or sell your positions. The bot will be permanently terminated and cannot be resumed. Funds will be returned to your Primary Account.

Q: After pausing a futures bot, is there still a risk of liquidation?

A: Yes. After pausing the futures bot, your open positions will not be closed, and they will still be affected by market price fluctuations. If the market moves significantly in an unfavorable direction and the margin is insufficient to maintain the position, liquidation may still occur.
