Borders In The Elements App

How to add a border to templates and digital assets in the Elements app

To edit templates, users will need either Admin-level account permissions or design permissions.

Adding a border from page settings:

From inside the edit template window, navigate to the Page panel on the right side of the screen. Click the icon shown below to add a basic border and adjust its weight according to pixel size.

Add a border using shapes:

Using shapes to create a border adds style variation to templates. To insert a shape, click the shape icon on the left side of the template. Set the fill color of the shape to transparent and choose a border weight by pixel size. In the Layers tab, drag and drop the shape to the bottom of the layers list so that all other element objects sit on top of it.

Style advice: Layering shapes can give borders depth. For example, one shape can have a heavier weighted border and a thinner bordered shape can lay on top of it to make the template more aesthetically pleasing. See below for an example.

Add a custom designed border:

Graphic design or branding teams can create custom borders for use in templates. Custom borders can be imported using the insert image feature, shown below. Common programs clients use include; InDesign, Illustrator, and Figma. When inserting a border using another tool, ensure the width and length dimensions are aligned in the template. Additionally, use a high-quality image file to ensure the integrity of the image is retained upon exporting from Pitchly.

Please note: In some instances, users experience issues with borders not appearing in PowerPoint once exported. If you experience this, we recommend using the first border application method.
