After you complete your fertility agreement, several important steps follow, depending on whether a fertility clinic, a Donor agency, or a surrogacy agency is involved. Here's what to expect:

  1. If a Fertility Clinic is Involved: Once the agreement is finalized and signed, Plaid will automatically send a legal clearance letter to the fertility clinic. This letter is required by most clinics before they can proceed with any medical steps. After receiving the clearance, the clinic will take the next medical steps, such as:

    • Retrieval of ova from the Donor (in the case of ova donation).

    • Sperm analysis or collection (if sperm donation is involved).

    • Embryo transfer or any other fertility treatment needed to move forward with conception.

  2. If a Donor or Surrogacy Agency is Involved: Once the agreement is finalized and signed, Plaid will automatically send a legal clearance letter to the agency. The agency will provide the necessary support and guidance as you move forward with conception. The agency will assist with the logistics involved in the donation or surrogacy process and may assist with the reimbursement of expenses.

  3. If No Fertility Clinic or Agency is Involved: If you're proceeding without the involvement of a fertility clinic or agency, once the agreement is fully executed, the Intended Parents and the Donor or Surrogate can move forward with the conception process as agreed in the fertility agreement. This could include making arrangements for insemination, embryo transfer, or other agreed-upon methods of conception.

This process ensures that once the legal agreement is in place, the next steps—whether medical, logistical, or otherwise—are clearly outlined, providing the clarity and support needed to proceed confidently with your fertility journey.
