Accepting Credit Card Payments on PlanitEasy via Stripe and Credit Card Authorization Form

Accepting Client Payments

PlanitEasy offers two main ways to collect payments from your clients.

Option 1: Credit Card Authorization Form

Send a Credit Card Authorization Form to your client to securely collect their card details. You then process the payment outside of PlanitEasy using the card info provided.

When creating the form, make sure to include the CVV field — this is a toggle in the form builder. Without it, you won't collect the 3 or 4-digit security code.

Option 2: Stripe Connect (Direct Payments)

Accept credit card and ACH payments directly through PlanitEasy using Stripe Connect. Clients pay through the invoice or proposal link you send them — no need for you to manually process the charge.

Setting Up Stripe:

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner

  2. Select My Account

  3. Click Stripe Connect in the left sidebar

  4. Click the blue Connect with Stripe button and follow the setup

Information You'll Need for Stripe Setup

  • Company name (as shown on your tax return)

  • Trade name (if different)

  • Company address

  • Taxpayer ID / Business Number (EIN, SSN, or equivalent)

  • Bank name, routing number, and account number

Processing Fees

  • Credit Card: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (Stripe) + 0.5% application fee = 3.4% + $0.30 total

  • ACH: $0.49 per transaction + 0.5% application fee

  • Processing time: 2 business days

You can choose to absorb the fee yourself or pass it on to the client. This is configured in My Account → Stripe Connect, and can also be set per trip in Proposal Settings. See: Absorb the Stripe Fee

⚠️ Subscription Requirement

Lite subscriptions do not include invoicing or payment collection. If you or an advisor cannot access payment features, check the subscription level — you need a Pro subscription for invoicing and Stripe payments.

ICs (Independent Contractors) on Lite subscriptions also cannot access invoicing. The main account holder or an admin would need to upgrade their seat to Pro.

Troubleshooting

"Stripe is not configured for your agency"

This usually means the Stripe connection needs to be re-synced on our end. Check that your Stripe account shows as Connected in My Account → Stripe Connect. If it does and you still see the error, contact PlanitEasy support — we can fix this quickly on our side.

Client paid through Stripe but invoice still shows unpaid

Record the payment manually from the Accounting tab on your trip's planner page. Then send the invoice link to PlanitEasy support so we can investigate the sync issue.

CC Authorization Form missing the CVV field

When creating or editing your CC Authorization Form, make sure the CVV toggle is turned ON in the form builder.

"Access Restricted — You do not have permission to View Client Credit Card"

Your Master Admin needs to enable the View Credit Card Info permission for your user account. Go to My Account → Users → click your name → toggle on the credit card viewing permission.
