Sometimes, your resources subcontract activities out to others. Using primary resources and sub-vendors, you can have the primary activity responsibility fall under one resource while the actual activity is provided by someone else.
Examples of uses:
An in-house spa (primary resource) that uses freelance masseuses (sub-vendors) to provide the service
An in-house tour operator (primary resource) that subcontracts to another tour operator or a freelance guide for tours
Freelance drivers (sub-vendors) who drive your hotel shuttle (primary resource)
How to work with sub-vendors in Planniac
Step 1: Designate a Primary Resource
When setting up an operator in Planniac's Resources section, you can designate it as a Primary Resource.
Step 2: Set up sub-vendors as resources
Also in Resources, be sure to include any sub-vendors as resources. You don't set them up any differently than a regular resource because sometimes you may not want their service to fall under a primary resource umbrella. For example, if you have an in-house tour operation, you may sometimes book your guests with another tour operator but under your own umbrella, while other times you may use that tour operator to provide tours that are not in your in-house portfolio.
Step 3: Schedule Planns with primary resources and sub-vendors
Add Planns for a guest as usual. When you select a resource that has been set up as a primary resource, a second dropdown box will appear to allow you to designate a sub-vendor.
Step 4: View your Planns on the dashboard
Now that you've scheduled the activity, you'll see it on the dashboard as usual.
Notice the symbol that is showing next to the Primary Resource name.
When you hover over that symbol, you'll see the name and phone number of the resource that is the sub-vendor.
Using Team Members as sub-resources.
This is an option for using your own staff or onsite subcontractors as resources on Tour or Spa activities. Team Members need to be set up in Admin Settings. Once they are set up, you'll be able to select them as sub-resources after an activity and a primary resource are selected.
