What happens when your free Core period ends

Overview

If you are on a free Core period, your access to Core lasts for 12 months from the date you claimed it. When your Core period is coming to an end, you will receive several notifications before expiry so you have time to decide what to do next.

If you do not take any action before your Core period ends, your account moves to Lite automatically.

Your options before Core expires

You have three options to stay on Core or move to a higher tier:

Option 1: Lock 20,000 XPL for 12 months

Go to the Tiers tab and lock 20,000 XPL to continue on Core for another 12 months.

Option 2: Pay the annual subscription

Go to the Tiers tab and pay $199 per year from your USD cash balance to continue on Core.

Option 3: Upgrade to Platinum

Lock 100,000 XPL to upgrade to Platinum and continue enjoying premium benefits

.

What happens if you move to Lite

If your Core period ends and you do not renew or upgrade, your account moves to Lite immediately. The following changes take effect straight away:

  • Your cashback rate drops to the Lite rate

  • Your Core perks stop immediately, including your ChatGPT Go credit and Visa Signature benefits

  • Your fees change

  • Priority support is replaced by standard support

What happens to my locked XPL if I drop to Lite

If you have XPL locked, your tier remains active for the lock period; XPL cannot be unlocked before the end of the 12-month lock. When your lock matures, you can unlock, after which your tier adjusts.

What if I drop to Lite and want to come back to Core?

If your account moves to Lite and you want to return to Core or above, you can do so at any time through the standard upgrade flow in the Tiers tab.
