You have a CRM that you would like to connect with Plezi to synchronize contacts between Plezi and your CRM.
Go to Plezi, log in, and follow these steps:
1) Find the CRM connection interface by navigating to Settings->Connectors.
2) Open the CRM configuration
3) Select your CRM in the modal
4) Next, follow the authentication steps with your CRM platform. Once authenticated, a modal will appear like this:
You're connected!
What’s left is to configure the fields and their mappings.
We can set up synchronizations in the following ways:
Plezi to the CRM only
CRM to Plezi only
Both ways
The typical configuration is both ways, and for that, you need to check both boxes as shown here:
Caution: Enabling synchronization in both directions may result in all CRM contacts being imported into Plezi. To avoid this, please follow the step: Filter your CRM contacts.
Note: For Sellsy CRM, you will have the option to synchronize Plezi => Individuals and Individuals => Plezi. If you choose to synchronize the Individuals entity, do not activate the CRM => Plezi or Plezi => CRM flows, as these are linked to the Contacts entity in Sellsy and may create duplicates.
You can then configure which fields will be updated for contacts in both systems, here:
Note: In Sellsy CRM, you will have the options Contacts, Individuals, and Company. It is not recommended to configure the Contacts mapping if you have chosen to synchronize the Individuals entity. The same applies in reverse: if you decide to synchronize Sellsy Contacts, do not configure the mapping for Individuals.
Important: If you choose to synchronize with the Individuals entity in Sellsy, it is essential to declare the type field. In the Export modal of the Individuals mapping, specify a type in English (e.g., prospect or client) based on Sellsy’s logic, as shown here:
The mapping interface will be displayed. This is where you can configure the fields to be updated in both the CRM and Plezi during synchronization.
We have two levels of mapping:
Export direction, which corresponds to Plezi → CRM
Import direction, which corresponds to CRM → Plezi
You can choose exactly which data from one tool will update a field in the other.
Here, the email field is preconfigured by default, as it is a prerequisite for Plezi. All other fields are empty by default.
To map or "link" a new field, configure it as follows: for a field of type simple text/string or boolean/checkbox (e.g., phone):
To map or synchronize a new field, configure it as follows: for a field of type single selection/drop-down menu (e.g., drop_down):
To map a new field of type multiple selection (e.g., interests):
The process is similar, but you must select the iterate over function.
In the Item field, enter the function 'map values from' with the value Item.
Match the values from one tool to the other for this field, as shown here:
Note: Sellsy CRM provides all available fields for a contact or an individual. However, it is typically the customized fields that will be used most often. You may remove fields that are not relevant to you and add new ones in the Custom Fields section:
Filter your CRM contacts:
To filter your CRM contacts, you must create a field in your CRM of type checkbox. This field must be named sync_to_plezi.
Important: Some CRMs, including Pipedrive and Hubspot, do not support checkbox fields. In this case, a single-option field will work, with values set to true and false.
If your CRM has both a Lead and a Contact module, create the field in both modules. It must be named sync_to_plezi.
If you want to filter your CRM contacts:
1) Check the box Filter my CRM contacts in the Connector → Synchronization settings interface in Plezi.
Note: If your CRM includes both a Lead and a Contact module (e.g., Salesforce and Dynamics), you will be able to check one box per module.
2) Map the sync_to_plezi fields on import:
3) From now on, as soon as contacts have the sync_to_plezi checkbox ticked, they will be synchronized.
Key field:
The plezi_url field is a default field in Plezi that allows you to send to your CRM the URL of the Plezi contact record for each contact.
This is very useful as it gives you a direct link from your CRM to the contact record in Plezi. It is a text field.
Notes on how it works:
Only contacts with an MQL status (having reached the MQL threshold) will be synchronized.
The email address (as a universally unique value) is used as the identifier for updates between the two systems. If the connector cannot find a contact using the email, it will create a new one. Conversely, it will update the contact if one with the same email address is found.
Synchronizations are triggered when the contact is saved in Plezi (if it is MQL) or in your CRM in real time. (Note: depending on the CRM, there may be a slight delay, but it should not exceed 15 minutes.)
It is essential to follow the correct configuration for drop-down and multiple-selection fields.
Notes on CRM-specific behaviors:
Pipedrive:
You do not need to map the Organization field on the EXPORT side of Leads, as the connector automatically associates Leads with Organizations based on the Company field in Plezi.
It is essential to strictly follow the sync_to_plezi naming convention in Pipedrive.
Sellsy:
You can interact directly with the Company object.
You can choose to synchronize either Sellsy Contacts or Sellsy Individuals, but not both at the same time.
Salesforce:
Plezi does not currently update the Contact object in Salesforce. This feature will be available during 2025.
You can connect your Sandbox by checking the sandbox box at the time of authentication.
In the CRM → Plezi direction, synchronizations may take a few minutes.
Teamleader:
Important: In Teamleader, it is possible to have multiple email addresses per contact. Because of this, the Teamleader API requires a different mapping for the email field in the Plezi → CRM direction (within the export mapping interface). It is mandatory to configure the email field mapping in this way for the connector to work properly:
