What is the heatmap of usage?

The quickest and easiest way to check what time and day your devices are being used the most!

The moment you log in to your management dashboard, you see the heatmap of usage right on the Dashboard page on the top-left side of your screen:

How to read the heatmap of usage?

Simple! Each row shows the days of the week and each column is the times of day:

The darker the color in each square gets, the more usage is happening in that time and day. Meaning that your users are charging their vehicles with your devices the most in that time period.

Let's take the example at hand to clarify the above definition more:

As indicated in the above screenshot, the squares (time slots) are darker on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between around 6 pm to around 8 am the next day.

In other words, the users are charging more than any other time of the day (and day of the week) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between around 6 pm to around 8 am the next day.

This shows you a very useful piece of data for your reporting purposes and having a clear view of how your devices are being used. In the example shown above, people prefer using the devices overnight which can be due to various reasons, such as:

  • devices have different (probably cheaper) usage rates (payment plans) at these times

  • they prefer parking their vehicles and leaving them for overnight charging to make sure their cars are fully charged, powered up, and ready for them in the morning when they wanna use them again

  • more people come back and stay at the property these days = devices are in more demand
