There are two ways to access the drug interaction checker in the updated iOS and Android apps. You might find yourself using both methods or preferring one, but the good news is it's flexible for how you work.
Access from the Features Page
The primary way to access the drug interaction checker in the app is by tapping on Features in the bottom navigation bar.
On the Features page, you'll see all the (you guessed it) features available with your subscription. Tap on Interaction Checker to open the tool.
From the tool itself, simply start typing drug names into the search. Tap the plus icon to add to your list. Repeat as needed until you have the list of drugs you'd like to compare.
Your results will display under your selected drugs. For more details about the interaction, tap on the grey bar to expand. You can also find more information about the classifications by scrolling to the Interaction Classifications section.
Access from Drug Monographs
Picture this: You're reviewing a drug monograph to find that dosage that always seems to slip your mind, and you realize you need to check this new drug against the patient's current medications.
You could tap the Features button in the bottom navigation and follow the steps above. However, if you're a fan of shortcuts like us, you can tap the Interaction Checker quick link at the top of the monograph.
The app will then automatically populate the drug in the drug interaction checker. All you have to do is add the patient's other medications to get the information you need quickly.
