Creating columns is a great way to show images, information, and options side by side on your site. This layout makes your content look organized and easy for visitors to follow.
Here’s how to use the column layout on your site pages to make your website look even better.
Adding columns to your site pages
Here's how to add columns to your site pages:
From your Podia dashboard, click on Website in the sidebar menu.
Select Edit site.
Add a new page section that supports a column layout.
Section types you can add that support columns are Text, Image, and Video.
Hover over the spot where you want to add a new section to trigger the Insert Section command.
Click the “+” symbol to add a section, then pick the type of page section you want to add from the left-hand menu.
Pick a column-layout design from the pre-made design options in the left-hand menu.
The design option you picked will be added to your page.
Customizing columns
Now that you've added columns to your site page, let's take a look at how you can customize them!
From the left-hand menu, use the Content and Design tabs to modify your page section.
Content tab
You can use the Content tab to modify the content of your page section. Options may vary based on the type of page section you've chosen.
As a general rule of thumb, here's what you'll be able to customize:
Pretitle, Title, and subtitle of your section
Text content of your section
Grid items: click on New item to add new columns to your section or click directly on an item to customize it
Clicking on an individual item will bring up additional options and allow you to modify the individual columns, such as:
Media: Add an image or video to individual columns items
Pretitle, Title, and subtitle of each individual column item
Text content of each individual column item
Add buttons to each individual column item
Design tab
You can use the Design tab to modify the design of your page section. Options may vary based on the type of page section you've chosen.
As a general rule of thumb, here's what you'll be able to customize:
Aspect ratio, corners, width, and mobile full-width option of the images on this section (if any)
Heading alignment, body alignment, media alignment options, width, gap & vertical padding of your section
Column count (adjust the number of columns per row)
Style
If you've selected the Card style, you'll be able to control the column card height behavior
