How can I add shipping costs to Polar?

If you have additional shipping costs stored outside of Shopify, you can import those costs to Polar using a Google Sheet.

Polar automatically detects any shipping costs that you have stored in Shopify and uses those costs in calculations for your other metrics (such as Total Sales), depending on your Data Settings. However, if you have additional shipping costs stored elsewhere that aren't going through Shopify, you can add those costs to Polar using our Google Sheet connector.

You can use our Expense Google Sheet template to add shipping costs as a daily expense from any other sources that aren't connected to Polar. Alternatively, if you need more granularity, you can add this data (by order, for example) using our Custom Google Sheet template. In case you need more guidance, this article includes more details on how you can connect data to Polar using a Google Sheet.

If you use the Expense Google Sheet template, then once you've added this data to Polar you can choose to deduct these expenses from Total Sales in your Data Settings by toggling the option below on. Please note that this does not work if you use the Custom Google Sheet to import your expenses, however, you could create a Custom Metric to create a separate formula for Total Sales in this case.
