Influencer, affiliate, and offline marketing efforts are powerful contributors to ecommerce growth — but they can often sit outside your connected ad channels. To ensure your marketing analytics in Polar reflect a complete picture of your spend and performance, you can easily import data for these non-native channels using our Google Sheets integration.

By syncing this data with Polar and combining it with the Polar Pixel attribution tool, you’ll be able to:

  • Track marketing spend for all influencer, affiliate, and offline campaigns

  • Attribute conversions and revenue to these non-native channels using UTM tracking

  • Blend these insights directly into your Polar reports and dashboards

In this guide, you’ll learn how to:

  1. Import influencer and affiliate spend data via Google Sheets

  2. Create an attribution report including this new data

  3. Group influencer and affiliate channels for clearer reporting

Import Influencer and Affiliate Data Using Google Sheets

Step 1. Prepare Your Data

Before connecting to Polar, download your influencer or affiliate spend data from your tracking platform or records. You’ll need:

  • Influencer or affiliate name

  • Cost or spend for each campaign

  • The tracking URL that includes UTM parameters (e.g., source, medium, campaign)

Your UTM links should look like this:

utm_source=youtube
utm_medium=influencer
utm_campaign=johndoe

These parameters will ensure Polar can attribute conversions and revenue to the correct campaign.

Step 2. Use the Polar Google Sheets Template

  1. In the “raw_spend” tab, remove the sample data but keep the column headers.

  2. Paste your own raw data using the same structure.

  3. Switch to the “spend_report” tab — this tab uses reference formulas to automatically pull data from your raw data sheet.

  4. Add your store name in the corresponding column.

Optional: You can include device, conversions, and conversion value data here — but even if you skip it, the Polar Pixel will capture orders and revenue attribution automatically.

Once your data is complete, connect your Google Sheet to Polar:

  • Navigate to Connectors → Google Sheets → Add New Sheet

  • Select your newly completed spend report

  • Save and sync

Your spend data will be automatically added into Polar’s blended Ad Spend metric, appearing alongside native platform data (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.). The first sync may take up to 24 hours.

Create Your Attribution Report

Once your Google Sheet data has synced, ensure you have installed and configured the Polar Pixel. This enables accurate attribution for influencer and affiliate conversions using your UTM parameters.

You can now create a Custom Attribution Report that includes:

  • Paid channels (from connected ad platforms)

  • Influencer and affiliate channels (from Google Sheets)

  • Conversion and revenue data (from Polar Pixel)

In this report:

  • Native paid channels will appear as “Google Ads,” “Meta Ads,” etc.

  • Imported Google Sheet data will appear exactly as named in your sheet (e.g., “YouTube” or “Influencers”)

  • You can combine or compare performance metrics across all these channels to see true ROI

This blended view lets you finally connect the dots between influencer spend, campaign performance, and attributed revenue.

Create a Custom Channel Grouping

Once your influencer and affiliate data is in Polar, you can create a Custom Channel Grouping to keep reports organized and readable.

For example:

  • Combine all influencer and affiliate data into one unified “Influencer Marketing” channel

  • Group them using a Custom Dimension with a “When Block” setup, listing each imported channel (e.g., “YouTube,” “Podcast,” “Affiliate Program”) as OR conditions

You can then select your new Custom Channel Grouping from the Breakdowns menu in Custom Reports to instantly view your performance by marketing type or campaign source.

This makes it easy to understand how influencer and affiliate spend contributes to your overall marketing ROI alongside other ad platforms.

By connecting your influencer and affiliate spend through Google Sheets and leveraging the Polar Pixel for attribution, you’ll transform previously siloed data into actionable marketing insights — all within Polar.

This integration helps you:

  • Capture the true ROI of influencer and affiliate campaigns

  • Compare spend and returns across all channels

  • Centralize all marketing performance data in one unified platform
