Smooth pick-ups lead to better trips! Here are some tips to make sure everything goes as planned when meeting your passengers.

1. Confirm the pick-up location before the trip

  • Before the day of your trip, confirm the pick-up location with your passengers.

  • To avoid confusion, send map pointers or a pin of the exact location.

2. Choose identifiable and convenient pick-up spots

  • Opt for recognizable and easy-to-access places like a gas station or Tim Hortons for pick-ups. Make sure to park in a legal spot and avoid disrupting local businesses or blocking traffic.

  • We recommend avoiding custom pick-ups, such as picking passengers up at their doorstep. These can lead to detours and delays, causing other passengers to be late and potentially raising personal safety concerns.

3. Share your vehicle details

  • Let your passengers know what vehicle you’ll be driving. Add these details to your Poparide profile, including your license plate number, so passengers can identify you quickly when you arrive.

4. Allocate extra time for pick-ups

  • Allow 5-10 minutes to pick up passengers, especially if traffic is an issue. Being flexible with your timing helps make sure the pick-up goes smoothly.

5. Communicate if you’re running late

  • If you’re running late, send a message to your passengers before leaving so they’re aware. Remember, don’t use your phone while driving—always prioritize safety and follow your province’s road regulations.

6. Make sure you've got the right passengers

  • Before passengers get into your car, double-check the booking in the app to confirm their name and profile match. Sometimes multiple Poparide trips leave from the same location, so confirming you have the right people is important

7. If you can’t find a passenger, give them a call

  • If a passenger isn’t at the pick-up spot when you arrive, try calling them—they’re often nearby. A quick call can avoid missed pick-ups, unnecessary refunds, and negative experiences.

These tips create a stress-free pick-up process that ensures your trip starts on the right foot.

Happy driving!
