Add Content to Your Board: Links, Files and Websites

What forms on content can you add to your Poppy boards?

Paste a link or drag in a file and Poppy turns it into a block you can connect to a chat. Once connected, it becomes part of that chat's knowledge base.

Social media links

Add a social media post

  1. Copy the link to the post.

  2. Paste it onto your board. You don't need the toolbar. Or press S to open Add Social Media Content and paste it there.

Supported links

  • TikTok videos and photo carousels

  • YouTube videos and Shorts

  • LinkedIn posts (image, video, text) and articles

  • Instagram posts, reels, carousels and stories

  • Facebook Ads Library ads (video, carousel) and Facebook posts and reels

  • X (Twitter) posts, with images or video

  • Loom videos. See Loom Video Support in Poppy.

  • Zoom recording links (a zoom.us link that contains /rec/)

Profile links (a TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn profile, or a YouTube channel) open the Discover Content panel instead. See Profiles in Poppy. A link straight to a video file (.mp4, .mov and similar) isn't supported: upload the file instead.

Note: if a post is removed from the platform after you add it, Poppy can no longer read it. Private or age-restricted posts can't be added; download the video and drop it on your board.

What Poppy reads

For social posts and ads Poppy reads the transcript and also analyses the visuals: what stops the scroll, on-screen text and captions, audio, people, and each carousel slide. Loom and Zoom links are transcript only. YouTube is transcript only unless visual analysis has been switched on for your account.

If a link doesn't load

  • Paste the link again or delete the block and re-add it.

  • Make sure the post is public.

Websites

Add a website

Paste the page URL onto your board. Poppy reads that one page: text, information and structure. It does not follow links to other pages, so paste each page you want separately.

If a site needs a login

  • Save the page or content to your computer, then drag the file onto your board, or

  • Take a screenshot of the page and add it. Poppy can read screenshots.

Files

Add files

  • Drag and drop files onto your board, or

  • Press U (Upload Files & Media) to pick files from your computer, Google Drive or Dropbox.

Supported file types

  • Documents: PDF, TXT, MD, CSV, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, ODT, EPUB

  • Images: PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC, GIF

  • Video: MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI, WMV, FLV, MKV

  • Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A (iPhone voice memos), AAC, OGG, FLAC, CAF

Files of other types are ignored when dropped onto the board. The upload window accepts up to 20 files at a time, each up to 3 GB. Uploaded videos are analysed visually up to 300 MB.

Put it to work

Connect the block to an AI chat and ask about it, for example "Analyze these reels and tell me why they performed" or "Use my internal notes document to write an SOP".
