Test & Go Live 🎉

After enabling PortalSphere in your theme and adding the required app blocks, follow these steps to test your storefront as a wholesale buyer and confirm everything is functioning properly.

1) Add Yourself as a Wholesale Buyer in a Buyer Group

  1. Log in to your PortalSphere Admin.

  2. Go to Buyer Groups, open the group you want to test with, and add your email address as a buyer.

  3. Save your changes.

2) Open Your Test-Theme in Preview Mode

  1. In Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.

  2. Locate the test theme you previously added PortalSphere to, click the three-dot “More” menu, and select Preview.

This opens the test theme in a new tab exactly as customers will see it.

3) Log In as a Wholesale Buyer

  1. In the previewed storefront, go to the Login or Account link.

  2. Sign in using the email address you added to the buyer group.

Your storefront will now display wholesale pricing, quantity rules, and access settings based on your buyer group.

4) Perform a Wholesale Storefront Walkthrough

Once logged in, walk through your store to confirm everything is functioning correctly in the key areas listed in the walkthrough checklist below.

Walkthrough Checklist

  1. Product Page

    1. Wholesale price is displayed next to the full retail price.

    2. Pricing Table is displayed below the product's price.

    3. Quantity selector follows your quantity rules.

  2. Collection Pages & Shop All Pages:

    1. Wholesale prices display on product cards.

  3. Cart Drawer:

    1. Product prices & order total reflect wholesale discounts.

    2. Quantity selector follows your quantity rules.
      ​

  4. Checkout:

    1. Order totals apply wholesale discounts.

    2. Relevant payment options appear (credit card and/or net terms).

    3. B2B shipping rates are being applied (if previously set up).

  5. Logged-Out View

    1. If you have a blended B2B & B2C store: Logged-out customers and non-wholesale customers only see normal pricing with a normal-behaving quantity selector. At checkout, net terms aren't being offered as a payment option.

    2. If you have a B2B-only store: Wholesale pricing is hidden and the add-to-cart button is disabled.

Step 5: Publish Your Wholesale-Enabled Theme

If everything is functioning as expected:

  1. Return to your Themes page in Shopify Admin.

  2. Find the copied test theme you just verified.

  3. Click the three-dot “More” menu next to that theme and select Publish.

🎉 Congratulations, you’re live!

  • PortalSphere wholesale is now live.

  • Previous wholesale apps tied to your old theme won’t run unless re-enabled.

  • Custom CSS & liquid code from your prior theme is preserved.

💸 Bonus Cost-Saving Step

To avoid paying for unused apps, uninstall any other wholesale apps you no longer need now that PortalSphere is live.
