1) Add Yourself as a Wholesale Buyer in a Buyer Group
Log in to your PortalSphere Admin.
Go to Buyer Groups, open the group you want to test with, and add your email address as a buyer.
Save your changes.
2) Open Your Test Theme in Preview Mode
In Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
Locate the copy/test theme you’ve been working on, click the three-dot “More” menu, and select Preview.
This opens the test theme in a new tab exactly as customers will see it.
3) Log In as a Wholesale Buyer
In the previewed storefront, go to the Login or Account link.
Sign in using the email address you added to the buyer group.
Your storefront will now display wholesale pricing, quantity rules, and access settings based on your buyer group.
4) Perform a Wholesale Storefront Walkthrough
Once logged in, walk through your store to confirm everything is functioning correctly in the key areas below. We also created a full checklist that you can view here.
Product Page: Confirm that the wholesale price is displayed next to the full retail price, tiered pricing appears correctly, the quantity selector follows your quantity rules, and the Complementary Product block displays as expected (if previously configured).
Collection Pages and Shop All Pages: Confirm wholesale prices display correctly on product cards.
Cart Drawer: Confirm wholesale pricing applies correctly, tiered pricing updates with quantity changes, the quantity selector follows your quantity rules, and totals update properly.
Checkout: Confirm totals reflect wholesale rules, relevant payment options appear (credit card and/or net terms), and B2B shipping rates apply if already set up.
Login / Access: Confirm wholesale pricing and add-to-cart access are only available to approved wholesale buyers for B2B-only stores, and retail customers in hybrid stores see normal pricing.
Step 5: Publish Your Wholesale-Enabled Theme
If everything is functioning as expected:
Return to your Themes page in Shopify Admin.
Find the copied test theme you just verified.
Click the three-dot “More” menu next to that theme and select Publish.
Congratulations, you’re live! 🎉
PortalSphere wholesale is now live.
Previous wholesale apps tied to your old theme won’t run unless re-enabled.
Custom CSS & liquid code from your prior theme is preserved.
