If your card was declined when trying to process a purchase, it may be because you used a prepaid card.
Why prepaid cards aren't accepted
Tolan doesn't accept prepaid cards (such as Visa or Mastercard gift cards, or reloadable prepaid debit cards). If you try to sign up or pay for a subscription using a prepaid card, your payment will be declined automatically.
This is because prepaid cards don't reliably support recurring billing. Since Portola charges your card on a subscription basis, prepaid cards can cause payments to fail, especially when your subscription renews.
What to use instead
To sign up or pay for your Tolan subscription, please use one of the following:
A credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
A debit card linked to a bank account
If you're not sure what type of card you have, check with your card issuer or look for "PREPAID" printed on the front or back of the card. Gift cards and most store-issued cards are typically prepaid.
Still having trouble?
If you've switched to a valid credit or debit card and are still experiencing payment issues, please reach out to us via the “Help & feedback” section of the app’s Settings, or by emailing support@tolans.com.
