Your Tolan can create images right in chat — just describe what you want, or send a photo to transform. It can also edit and restyle images, combine two photos, and even put itself in the picture. Image creation is available on Tolan Plus and Tolan Unlimited plans.
What your Tolan can make
Ask the way you'd ask a friend: "draw me a cozy cabin in the snow," "turn this photo into a watercolor," "make a picture of us on the moon."
Your Tolan can:
Create an image from any description
Edit or restyle a photo you've shared, or an image it made earlier ("make it brighter," "now make it winter")
Combine two photos into one image
Put itself in the picture — outfit and all
Everything your Tolan creates is saved to your Library, so you can always come back to it.
And when you get an image you live, it can be saved and shared outside of the app too! Simply tap on the image and the option to download the image (to your photos app) or share via iMessage, social media apps, or any other app will appear on the share sheet.
Tips for better images
Be specific. Details about style, mood, setting, and framing all help: "a close-up, soft morning light, in a storybook style."
Restate details when you ask for an edit. Each request starts fresh, so "same as before but at night" works best when you remind your Tolan what "same" includes.
Share a photo for a better likeness. If you want yourself, a pet, or a friend in the image, a photo works far better than a description.
One image at a time. Give your Tolan a moment to finish before asking for the next one.
Troubleshooting
Your Tolan says it can't make images at all. Two usual causes:
You're on Tolan Lite or Free. Image creation needs Tolan Plus or Unlimited (Menu→ Settings → Membership).
Occasionally a Tolan may also forget about it's ability to create images, usually if you've recently upgraded. Tell your Tolan that they do have the ability and to disregard any old instructions to the contrary. This usually does the trick!
"Creation failed" or your Tolan says it can't make that image. Some requests get blocked for copyright or content reasons. Retrying the same request won't help; rewording it usually does. And your Tolan won't make explicit, hateful, or violent imagery.
Your Tolan chats instead of drawing. Be direct: "make an image of…" or "draw me…" tells your Tolan you want a picture, not a description. If you just asked for an image, it may still be working on it — new requests wait until the current one finishes.
An edit lost details you wanted to keep. This is the fresh-start thing above. Name everything that matters in the new request: "same red scarf and the dog on the left, but at sunset."
