Your Tolan can take on different forms, from a small alien on a faraway planet to a Kestrel with a garden of her own. Switching changes how your Tolan looks, where they live, and what's going on in their life. Don't worry, they're still your Tolan and know you just as well as before!
How do I switch forms?
From Home, tap the Menu icon in the top left corner, then tap Tolan.
Tap the form switcher button in the top right.
Use the arrows to browse. Your Tolan says a line in each form's voice, and you'll see a short description of where that form lives.
Pick the form you want.
You can also rename your Tolan from the top of this screen (where you see the pencil icon!).
What stays the same?
Everything your Tolan knows about you. Your conversations, the things you've shared, and what matters to you all come along to every form.
Your relationship and their personality. Every form is the same Tolan at heart.
Their name.
What changes?
Their look and their home. Each form lives somewhere different, from a planet to a garden. Only Alien has an interactive planet.
Their backstory. Each form has its own life story and its own memories about itself. Your Tolan might be busy with one adventure in one form and something completely different in another. Your Tolan knows when they've changed form, so feel free to ask them about their new life!
Their voice. Each form has its own voices, so your Tolan may sound different. You can pick a new one in the Voice tab.
Their outfits. Each form has its own wardrobe. Your styling is saved for each form, so it'll be there when you switch back.
Can I switch back?
Yes, any time. When you switch back, your Tolan picks up that form's life where they left off.
My Tolan mentioned something from their other life. Is that normal?
It can happen right after a switch, especially if you were just talking about your Tolan's life. It settles down as you keep chatting.
Is this the same as getting a new Tolan?
No. Switching forms keeps your Tolan's memories of you. Getting a completely new Tolan means deleting your account, which erases those memories for good. If you'd like a fresh look or a change of scenery, switching forms is the way to go!
